Clean a Commercial Griddle Surface using GrillMaster Pumice Stones
Cleaning materials
and methods may differ, however, a clean and sanitary griddle is a universal
goal for all chefs which allows for efficient cooking and unadulterated,
delicious food every time.
It takes about 5-10 minutes to properly clean a grill. Here we teach you how to clean grills and griddles with the GrillMaster 100% natural pumice stone grill cleaning bricks.
What You will Need:
- Griddle scraper
- GrillMaster grill cleaning brick
- Cleaning rag
- Soda water or club soda
- Cooking oil and vinegar
Cleaning Directions
- Pour 1 cup of cooking oil (you can use fryer oil) onto a hot griddle surface.
- Use your GrillMaster pumice stone to scrub the griddle surface, apply small concentric circles to the surface until it is clean
- Use a grease trough to scrape the oil into and discard – remember to turn the griddle off.
- Carefully pour 1 cup of club soda onto the still-hot griddle. The carbonation will loosen and lift the stubborn grease.
- Use your GrillMaster pumice stone to scrub the griddle surface and apply small concentric circles until the surface is clean. Scrape the remaining liquid into a trough and discard.
- Pour 1/2 cup of vinegar onto the griddle surface and spread the liquid out evenly across the entire surface – do not allow the vinegar to pool.
- Rub down the griddle surface with a rag and apply small concentric circles until the surface is polished. Scrape the vinegar into a grease trough and discard.
- Soak the rag in cooking oil and rub the surface to re-season the steel and polish. Now you can bask in the soft glow of your newly cleaned griddle.
How often should you clean your commercial griddles?
If you use your griddle heavily every day then we advise daily cleaning. This prevents efficiency loss, flavor transfer and unsightly burnt-oil-flake contamination.
